Thread: Pulled the handbrake too hard...

1 day before inspection, and it f****n snapped.

-Where do they usually break?
-Can I use a NX1600 handbrake cable on a NX2000?
-Are they tricky to replace?

Probably at one of the rear rotors

Get under the car and check the "T" just below the handle, a cable could have slipped out and it may be an easy fix.

When I pull the handle, the right hand one moves so freely, that no tension comes on the left side. It seems like the RH side cable has snapped somewhere in the middle.

Anyone know if I can use same cable as NX1600? Some sources say you can, some say it only depends on ABS or not. Really confusing stuff

Only difference for the cable is if the car is disc or drum brakes(drum brake cables are longer).

ABS has nothing to do with it.

The cable ends are different on drum brakes than on disc brakes. You'll need to use disc brake cables for disc brakes. You can use the B13 SE-R cables on your NX2000.
