i just drilled and tapped the center of the stub, ran bolt in the hole and used a slide hammer to pull the axle stub out. ya it was a bithc since the axles are hardened but it worked.

Curious as to how ur axle broke? I had the same thing happen to me on saturday at the track..Took the trans apart because you cant punch it through the passenger side.

It broke in from the housing a little.

Figured it wouldn't be easy to drill into, but thought to try it on the main part of the axle first atleast.

stephenjk13 -- did you use anything special, or normal drill bits and normal tap??

Broke it launching at the track, got the BF's heated up good for once and dropped the clutch.......

mine broke because i didn't preload my drivetrain when i was launching. on my third pass..... snap!

so kids, get the car rollin a hair before you dump the clutch. i knew that at the time but didn't think i'd have to take my trans apart to get an axle out. that's what i call learning the hard way.
