Heated seats anyone?? (Has anyone done this yet?)
Just got done hanging out with my buddy and he told me about an aftermarket heat seating kit he got on Amazon ( Amazon.com: Dorman 628-040 Universal Seat Heater Kit: Automotive ) and he says it's great.

I know some of the P10 guys use the OEM seaters from Maxima's (Stock harness/OEM switches) but I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar with the B chassis cars or any other car for that matter. I was interested in these because from what I have been able to research, these work well (not too hot) for OEM cloth seats.

Living in Denver, CO and considering moving back to Chicago, these will be plenty appreciated when it's cold. My GTI had them, and they kind of spoiled me. For approx $130 bucks plus some time/effort I can have the two front seats with toastiness. I know it's not the right season, but it's summer and I can afford the down time as I cycle to work 99% of the time anyway. Trying to get the car to where I want it mechanically and with amenities (only thing else I really want is a 2 DIN modern smartphone friendly/USB headunit) while wrenching weather is nice.

Any insight, thoughts, feedback, or opinions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I know where to get p11's leathers in the area if I want them, but I don't want leathers in front and cloths in back. Hence why I am digging this Dorman setup at the moment. The ability to add these to add these to any seats is dope.

Strip the g20 of all the parts you need. Heaters, harness, timers, controllers, switches....

That was my original plan when considering this mod but I'm concerned about the mileage as well as the fact that factory heaters tend to run hot (especially with leather). Couple that with the fact that factory harness would still need to be wired AND there are no places for the factory switches like on the P's I thought this was a better and easier solution since its new and has a warranty.

I'm surprised no one has tried these. From mh research they are highly reviewed.

Plus the g20s (p11 only) didn't all have seat warmers. I think that was only on the cold weather package.

I installed these in my fiancee's Civic and have been going strong for 18 months. She loves them and uses them all the time. The only PITA part is getting the seat covers off.

The exact same Dorman ones.

how long did install take? From what I've read it's about 2-3 hours per seat.

I am by no means a proficient mechanic but there is no way in hell it would take 3 hours a seat. Took me about an hour I think. It's been a while.

No more than ~10 minutes to get tools and get the whole seat out. Then the fun part of getting the cover off the foam.

i saw the how to videos. i too am no mechanic though basic maintenance is ok with me, my biggest concern is wiring because I have no experience.
