B13 Highport to Lowport Questions
Well guys I need some help. I bought a 92 SE-R that needed a new motor(rod went thru the block) and picked up a low port SR. I thought it would be a simple swap but the shop is saying the harness and a few other things need to be adjusted. I have 2 questions.. would it be easier to just put the original head on the low port block? What needs to be done for the low port to run in the car? I'm on a tight budget so I need to figure out what route to go since it's impossible to find high port SR's in Central FL.

No it's very simple.... Just use the sensors from the old motor on the new motor then drive away. If the shop you are using can't figure that out then don't ever use them again. I'm local and can help if you need it. I'm willing to bet when your done paying this shop your using you could have saved money swapping a sr20ve into the Car with my help. Good luck.

I went thru a shop that my father goes to and he paid them up front for the swap since I'm tight on money. They had no clue that SE-R's had SR20's or that they even came in a FWD too. I'm going to send you a PM tho.

Isn't it just the TPS that needs its wires extended? And the temp gauges need to be individually unwrapped from the tape? It's almost to easy...

No, it would not be easier to swap the head. It's much easier to just lengthen the wires that are too short.
