SR20DE AC compressor removal
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to remove/replace the AC compressor from the underside without removing the alternator? I can get to all four mounting bolts from the underside, I'm just concerned that it won't drop low enough with the top line attached. The automobile in question is a P10.

I couldn't. I had to remove the alternator, at least on a B14

I found a thread on G20.net that says out the bottom. It was a P11 but I can't imagine it could be that different.

I don't have a problem removing the alternator per se but less work, a.k.a. "work smart, not hard", is always preferable.

Guess I'll just have to go at it and post results when I'm done.

Did you need to remove it? Removing the alternator isn't all that bad but then again when I do it I remove tons of stuff out of the way, so it adds up

I honestly don't see why you need to remove the alternator in order to get the A/C Compressor out. The bolts are all accessible. Take a better look and you'll see. You definitely DO NOT need to do this on a B14.

It'll come out without removing the alt

well I had to remove my alt anyway so figured what the hell might as well. I didn't really look for ways to do it w/o it but didn't see many

It comes out through the bottom.
