Thread: Driver side axle seal problem

I replaced my larger driver side axle seal while replacing axles and the seal leaks. Looks like the seal doesn't stick out far enough from the trans when seated all the way to seal around the axle. The seal is timken, anyone else have issues with these?

Possible worn c/v shaft if it is leaking between the seal and the input shaft. Also, Input shaft may not be in all the way.

If the seal is leaking between the seal & trans case, clean thoroughly and use some ultra-gray to seal it up.

The axles are new cardone select axles, and it is leaking front the where the seal surrounds the axle. I think it's because I pushed the seal in too far

yep seal has to be flush.
