Thread: RWD trans sr20ve

I am looking into swapping a sr20VE into another car and am looking for a short rwd trans that shares the same bell housing pattern as the rwd ka24de. I have an adapter plate to bolt the fwd engine to the rwd ka trans but the 240sx trans is simply too long. I'm looking for a much shorter trans for this swap to allow me to install it without relocating transfer cases and driveshafts. Anyone have any ideas? The current 240sx trans is 37" I believe. I would be ok with a 4 or 5 speed. My understanding from my resaerch also suggest the L20 and z-24 motors also use the ka-de bell pattern.

The L20 will work. Where were the points that you measured and I will measure an l20 tranny that we have laying around this weekend.

Cool, just give me a total overall length of the trans from tailshaft seal to bell housing. I appreciate it.
