Thread: driver window switch

replaced the driver window switch and the window functions still won't work. the lock/unlock function works. all the other windows roll down using their individual switch but the driver window function won't do anything. any thoughts? i checked all fuses and lines and everything seems good.

??? Have yo applied 12v directly to that door's window motor to verify that the motor is good ???

i have not yet. however, if i press the passenger and the rear window buttons (on the driver side switch), it won't roll the windows down; but if I go to each of the other doors and hit the switch on each door the windows will roll down.

damnit what the heck. this is the switch I pulled from that 99 GXE right? sorry man don't understand. I would think it's something with a bad wire or something if the lock function works

Theres an amp in between there also,I think its in the door....but it sounds like the master switch may still be bad.
I would do as stated above...start by putting 12v at the motor and work your way out from there.

of course since I grabbed it from the pull yard I had no way to test it but the connections looked ok. ill see if I cant find you another one and hope this one works (free on me)

I went again and I found a bunch........... but all were from 95, 96, or 97 GXE's or something. No 98 or 99s

Only difference is the shape of the switch IIRC
