Thread: worth fixing or ride it till the wheels fall off?? help/advice is loved

93 nx with rust.
I am by no means a body guy at all. So if you are then you can help me out.
tell me what you all think this may run me to get fixed.
if it can be fixed I would like to get it fixed cause this is the only bad spot on the car.
here are the pics, images start outside and i move in towards the rear wheel then under the car.















if you need more I can provide them.

Pics are way too close up. We need to see these in perspective, can take photos of the panel(s) where its happening?

There are two approaches to this, one cheap, one not. If you want to "restore it" to it's former glory it's the not cheap approach, which would be taking it to a body shop and having them cut out all the rot/welding in new metal/prep/paint. If you just want to get a couple more years out of it then spray foam/bondo/undercoating/spray-bombing is the way to go.

It all depends what you want out of the car. That said, it looks as though it may have already had a bondo treatment.

I would be looking really hard at the rest of the car after seeing this. Cars just dont rust in one spot.
Look at all the typical bad areas before you can decide. It may be cheaper to find a rust free shell than to have repairs done correctly.

I can get a pic farther away lol I plan to send it to a body shop thats my main goal. I dont want to fit it cheap.

If you havent already,you should pull back the carpet over the rear strut towers and even behind the rear speakers...I am afraid to see what you find there.Sorry man hopefully I am wrong on this,but thats a bad spot too from my experience..
I am hoping for the best for you

I checked those there good. Theres no sign of rust there.
