It over heated once no leak, oil was low filled it let it cool down acted normal (this is right when i started dating my girlfriend and what consequently led me into looking into the car and taking a liking to it.) then it did it again couple weeks later but didn't show hot that's when I noticed a leak she still had to drive it so we kept water in it and no problems didn't really overheat again but then the other day all the water was gone out of it and when I poured more on it came out nearly as quickly as I could pour and it wasn't makin any noise and no sediment in the pump but there was water leaking out the weep hole I figured on replacing the stat as well just hadn't done so yet needed to get it at least running but note she's back together but she's still leaking not nearly as much as before barely a dribble now but it's still leaking I'm thinking it's the radiator because I know she has used stop leak on it before and some one said something earlier about not using the paper gasket but I did already is that Bad thing? And why?

I roasted my first sr20 from a faulty temp sender. The gauge pegged out as soon as the engine was fried. OE calls for grey rtv, not a gasket. The grey is a high pressure rtv and it works great. Those gaskets will eventually develop seeping or leaking and the pump bolts may loosen. I've never seen grey rtv leak when done properly.

That's a difficult "sentence" do decipher without punctuation. For a second there, I was thinking I needed to go rent Deliverance Elbow Deep!

Jiminy Christmas, I thought the first sentence was a run-on...you murdalized that last one! Punctuation helps people adequately understand the issue at hand...lack of punctuation discourages reading. Sorry for that, had to be done...now back to the issue.

Just to clarify...you already replaced the water pump but it's still leaking? If you did, how did the impeller look? What makes you think the radiator needs replacing? Do you see any wetness around the top plastic end tank of the radiator (fairly common)?

Ideally you should replace all the items at once so you don't waste a bunch time burping the bubbles out of the cooling system multiple times. Sometimes air pockets can be a pita to burp out. If you have confirmed a bad radiator, I'm sure you could find a good used one on this site. I would definitely replace the t-stat. The hoses are probably due too if they haven't been replaced in a while. I'm sure others have input as well.

Wouldn't be a bad idea to replace the cap as well but some people prefer to wait until stuff fails before they replace it.

Sorry about the complete jumble of a paragraph there. I was on my phone, and it apparently abhors punctuation lol. and no worries on correcting me.... I'm usually the guy pointing it out. lol thank you all for the help so far. and yes. I replaced the water pump, but i still have a leak... and i believe it is the radiator because, it appears to be the source of the leak. there is a steady bead of water along the seam of the plastic and the aluminum. I also believe that the stat is probably bad as well. Because the last time it got hot, it didn't register...and one of the props on the impellor was bent. but i didn't actually pull the old one off. So I was unsure if it were bent in the process. They said it got banged up a bit on the way out. I did make the mistake of using the paper gasket.... should i remedy that?
and unfortunately I think the yokle may have stripped one of the housing bolts for the water pump... How difficult is that going to be to fix?

If anyone could direct me to a Good radiator on here or anywhere else that would be amazing.....
I have to take a drive to get to any decent parts stores around me. I have a autozone and an advance close by but. I don't want any remans or another plastic piece of shi.

I also have a question regarding the FSM list that Lam-park provided.... it says sentra I'm assuming these correlate to my nx will there be differences?

I am bored and I hope you save this nx...so heres some info that will save you alot of searching and aggravation...

First off almost everything in the Sentra FSM is applicable to the nx on the mechanical/chassis side as the B13 sentra was the platform for the NX coupe.
Obviously body stuff is different. The brakes on the nx and radiator are bigger and there are some other slight mechanical differences(nx having a few upgrades over the SER even)
So for engine, electrical, suspension, etc its all a B13.The FSM is a combined book,I have one.It covers the 1.6 and 2.0 sentra an nx coupe.

Now for the other stufff...
If it were me,I would redo the water pump with Permatex ultra-gray like the factory does. However I also only used Nissan waterpumps over the years. Most aftermarket come with a paper gasket. It should seal fine, but if its leaking you have to fix that..
If theres a bolt stripped,Its not gonna be fun...not gonna lie. I think I would replace all the other possibilities and see if the pump is still leaking before I tackled that.

The Factory radiators do indeed start to leak at the seam of the plastic tanks and the aluminum part.
The radiator in an nx is thicker than a sentra,so you will probably find that most if not all aftermarket/parts store radiators are inferior. They make them all thin like the 1.6 sentra and they have smaller inlets and outlets.....you do not want that with an nx since the nose has less openings for airflow. The thin radiator is barely up to the task ,especially here in FL with AC.
As the leak starts it will actually evaporate before it hits the ground, and if you didnt smell it or open the hood and see it,you may not know for a while until it starts to hit the ground.

So...what do you do? Heres the order starting with the cheapest.
-get lucky and find an nx radiator in the junkyard.(I think the P10 has the same one also thats 91-96 G20)....25-50 at most
-Find a member here selling a good one.75-100
-Buy an aluminum aftermarket like Godspeed,Mishimoto or Koyo.(ebay) 150-350

keep in mind that there are also some rubber hoses on the back of the bock under the intake that can leak also over time...they are overlooked alot and could also be causing some issues.....again..not something you want to do with the engine in the car,but I suppose it could be done...never tried.

Hope this info helps and good luck. Please update this thread with your findings and progress to possibly helpm others in the future.
Thanks

thanks much eggman!!

now as far as finding a radiator on here... what would be the best way to go about that? Just make a post requesting it? what forum would be the best place to ask?

Post a thread in the wanted section and see what turns up. I have a spare, but I would want to test it for leaks before I would sell it. That could take a while.

I concur...I'm sure you'll find what you need.

thanks guys!! you've been a great help. and I'll be sure to update this post as i fix everything. thanx a million!
Once i get the cooling issue solved i plan on giving her(my kids named her nikki, as in nikki the nissan lol) a good working over. Starting with the suspension, wheel assemblies, etc and just doing all the little things that will make her run like new.

I eventually want to put in a 5 speed... right now its an automatic. And, I need to have someone rework all the seals for the t-tops and the hatch. As well as new hydraulics for the hatch. She needs a little tlc.... but hopefully with a little help I'll have her top notch before to long.
