Thread: Rear window tint removal - I need tips!

I removed the tint off my rear window on my NX with a steam machine and it left a second layer of film that wouldn't come off? I don't want to scrap it off with a razor blade because I don't want to remove the defrost element. Any tips?

Tell him you are a forum member and I gave you his # he will tell you how to save the defrost lines.I have seen him do it many times,and there are a couple good ways.

that secondary film is probably the glue + soap. a little goo gone should get rid of it. spray, let it soak a lil, wipe it off with a soft cloth.

Deionized water and some plastic will remove the tint. Acetone will remove the glue.

For removing adhesive left behind from tint or vinyl I use Rapid Adhesive remover and a plastic scraper. Spray on the remover, let it sit for 10 min and it will come right off.
