Thread: battery light on initial start-up

I'm not sure what is causing this?
In the morning when I first start the car (91 SER), the battery dash light stays lit until I rev the motor once and then it goes out, and never comes on again. Battery seems to be well charged, but this light thing has just recently started happening. I'd think if it was the alternator going the light would stay on or the battery would be drained?

AFAIK battery light means charging system fail...if it goes away when you rev it mayne your alternator belt is lose? Just a suggestion

This ^ and it's possible the voltage regulator is on it's way out. Take to autozone and get alternator and battery scanned. If it's regulator get it rebuilt.
