I do need to get it hooked up to pass "Emissions" for inspection (NO CELs allowed), so I will have to install one. But, now I'm confused because that empty connector does not look like the ones I'm finding in service information. Is that red connector I pictured in the OP the correct one? Also bizarre that the MAF isn't connected, I can't even find its connector either. (Note: There is no CEL for the MAF, just the IAT)

I can't even seem to find the connector. Hopefully some idiot didn't cut the wire out.

Update: What I believed to be a loose MAF connector is actually the IAT wire. Doh!

The plug that you think is your maf wire that is actually for the iat

What ECU is the car using?

There is no MAF on the car now?

I can tell from your side view mirrors, the car is a 1996 or 1997. I have a 1995 B14, they should be close to the same. Mine is stock with no CEL.

This one is a 1996 and is now using the proper stock ECU from a 1996 200SX SE-R. Before it had an ECU out of a '98+ which as we know is incompatible. Ran the car well enough but had 14 codes! With the correct ECU it now has just the one code due to the missing IAT.

[s]Are you sure? Not doubting your knowledge, but that connector is coming directly off the MAF sensor itself.[/s]
Edit: Just took a second look at the wiring and determined that is actually the IAT connector after all. It is just wrapped in the same bunch of wiring that connects to the MAF. My mistake!

Edit: Currently have an IAT on the way, managed to find one!

Now that is frustrating! Got the IAT, installed it. That code is now gone, and that was the only code the car had. But, while driving the car to get all the "Readiness Monitors" completed to finally get this thing stickered, the CEL came back on again. "P0136 Oxygen Sensor Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2" - damn! Not only does that baffle me, but I looked under the car, traced the rear O2 sensor to the wiring loom under the seat, where the wiring disappears. So I don't even understand how to replace it without cutting wiring?

Anyone more experienced with the B14 / OBDII platform have any input? I would really appreciate it! Maybe it's a common problem, or maybe I'm just not understanding the way the wiring under there is set up. Like I said, I may possibly be a complete idiot here.

I have borrowed a friend's scan tool and have found that there is now showing "0.000V" signal voltage from the rear O2 sensor.

My place temporarily became a Nissan Shop this evening as I made futile efforts to fix Jade's Check Engine Light. After a $90 IAT fixed the one code the car had, it quickly developed a code for the Rear O2 sensor circuit, and is getting zero voltage from the sensor. I looked underneath this evening to find that someone "spliced" wires together with electrical tape alone. I spent some time properly crimping the wiring together and EUREKA! ...still nothing. But there was one result! I now also have a second code as suddenly the FRONT O2 Sensor Heater sends out an urgent request that I Check the Engine.

I need a drink.

Some idiot's pathetic wiring job. I think he replaced the rear O2 sensor and couldn't find the connector (I can't either) as the wires disappear into a wiring loom. So he just stripped the wires and "connected" them with electrical tape.

Burn it. It's cursed. Sooner rather than later.

Also, you paid $90 for a sensor that does absolutely nothing? Should have gotten a used one on the forums or one at a junkyard.

What year ECU do you have in the car?

I believe there is a write up somewhere for a resistor box or something to delete the rear O2. Its almost as useless as the IAT.
