Gear oil rating vs transmission oil rating
Found this to be a good read, but its not easy to find a GL-4 only oil.

Redline and Amsoil normally have to be bought online.
VR1 racing oil may be an alternative in a tight spot.

I ran that too for a year or so when i had the 200sx, when i swapped everything over to the Sentra i used MT-90. There was such a night and day difference i could not believe it, it shifted much smoother and felt much more solid. Give it a try and you will never go back.

MT-90 is good
I purchased, however, never used that Valvoline stuff and after handling it and comparing it (outside of the gearbox) all I can say is.... hooray it is cheap.....

I have now used Red Line MT90 in three different cars. All Nissan standard transmissions that call for GL-4 gear oil in my "family fleet" and I recommend Red Line MT-90 with confidence for the proper application.

I am about to buy another case now from the ol' supplier.

Only bad thing I felt about MT90 was that it felt too thin for spirited driving.

everyones got their own preference and thats ok.

@ashtonsser has turned many guys to the valvoline, not many if any are complaining.

Yeah I liked the valvoline, I just think it caused me to shift slower compared to the MT90.
