Random alternator question
Just out of curiosity can a progressively failing alternator over time cause a serious hp loss. Today I replaced my alternator and the car felt like it picked up 15 whp .... of course this is just seat in the pants feel. I sure some one has also experienced this also I'd like to hear from you.

Maybe if it was causing a weak spark?

Seeing as how an alternator is responsible for the electrical load both input and output on a vehicle, it seems to make sense that a new alternator putting maximum amperage could do just that....why not? Imagine yourself with a migraine while your at work, your not going to be as productive. But take a few aspirin and a five hour energy and find out you won the lottery, I think your going to be much more excited especially running out the door at top speed because your never going to work again.....long winded but you get my point.

If I find out I just won the lottery, being productive at work will be the last thing going on.

Absolutely correct.

Now, OP, replace your battery, before it leaves you stranded. Trust me, when you do one, you do the other.

This happened to me over thanksgiving in Jacksonville. Alt went out on me, and I replaced it. Tried to jump the battery and it would not hold a charge.
