You don't need a consult cable to check codes in the ecu. Check the codes in the ecu and if it's weak ignition signal I might have an idea about what it is. Had a problem like that with my NX and nobody knew what it was. Thank god for the FSM I found the problem in 2 seconds.

I have a new problem that started today. I took it for a test drive and the engine keeps accelerating when I take my foot off the gas pedal! The pedal is not sticking, it comes back to normal position but the car keeps accelerating as if I am still on the gas. It revs up until it hits redline and then it dies back down. Also, I had over half a tank of gas before the test drive and now the gauge is reading almost empty.

What would cause this?!?! ...and could it possibly be related to my other running issue?

Well I think I found out what it was. I read on another members post who had an extremely similar problem that it was the distributor. So I swapped that out and it haas been runnig fine ever since. Hopefully that was it. Thank you all who posted to give advice!
