b13 highport de harness on ve help
so i have a friend that is doing a "slow" sr20ve swap in his 92 se-r that had the original high port motor. he and his friends pulled the motor without marking wires, taking pics, or doing any sort of tagging to remember where plugs go, plus it was months ago if not more when they pulled it so now no one remembers where anything goes i helped him for the most part on hooking up the harness to the ve and the relays, fuses around the engine bay but theres still a few plugs I'm not sure about.

Sooooo i'm wondering does anyone have pics of how they wired up a ve using a high port harness, or pics of their high port motor wiring, or an online wiring schematic of an se-r high port? haynes repair manual does not have a good schematic of the engine harness for wiring up a motor blind.

There really is not much to the harness. I'm sure if you were to post some pics of the engine bay and the plugs that you guys are unsure of, we would be able to tell you where they go.

You can find the b13 wiring harness diagram in the online FSM. Just search google, im sure there are numerous places you can download it.

Then just match them up. You aren't going to use all of them, there will be quite a few left over from emissions equipment.

92 Highport to SR20VE Install - SR20 Forum

I used that write up for my 92.
I only had two plugs that were unnecessary as they were for the EGR and another that had tape from factory, I just left that one alone.

thanks, ill pass that on to him. i have no experience with b13s, let alone any sentra with ps or abs which he has both, so i can't go off memory. wouldn't be a problem if i had just seen the old motor and harness before he tore it out. and he took the old motor to the junk yard right after he pulled it pretty sure the distributor coil went with it.

what exactly is the little black thing thats to the left of the coil in the pics? has a green and white wire leading to the plug with what looks like a splice into the green wire. almost looks like ignition control?

That's the ignitor chip, required for the car to run if you're still using the DE distributor system. The green wire is the one you tap for RPM signal for any rpm switch.
