Thread: Repairing stripped O2 bung threads on a stainless header.

I want to replace my current O2 but it's stripped in the header with it's own, "unique" thread pattern. The bung needs to be retraced or taped.

Has anyone used an O2 thread repair kit, HeliCoil or the like? I had a friend try and retap the hole but they couldn't get it started, said the stainless was too hard. I'm thinking their taps were dull?

I wondered. Saw one of those, wondered if it was tough enough for the stainless used in those SSAC style ebay headers.

I disagree... The shit is super fucking hard lol I had to port the holes and it took forever.. Broke a bit ect.. When it came time to drill a hole for the wideband that was harder than hell lol Only chance is if the bung is made out of something else or its going to be a lot more difficult than it should be

get proper bits and tools than because it was cake for me

Sharp, slow and lubed. Work hardening sucks.
