Thread: car won't start

so I got a test light. I just gone done testing all the fuses and the wire that goes from the ignition to the starter, and everything was good. So I'm starting to doubt that starter I put in

Sorry to thread jack a little but Ive been searching because of some problems with my starter. I will turn the key a few times and nothing but then its will just crank over like nothing. I'm thinking maybe a connection to the starter. Any ideas?

Solenoid, mine has been doing that for the past two years and has slowly got more and more frequent. It WILL eventually leave you stranded, so get it swapped out.

at least i had just bought a 6 pack when mine left me at 7-11

check the fuses with the battery positive disconected . then rig test light between the term and the batt. the test light will light up if there is an amp draw like interor lights and such


ither turn interor light off or pull interor light fuse

with all acc off key out of ign

test light should light up when you first touch it to the batt and should slowlly dimm

this is the ecm and radio going to power save

if the light stays bright then pull fuses untill light goes out. when it dose you have found your short get a wirring diagram for that fuse

light may never go completlly out but it should get noticablly dimmer

Every morning it starts hard, right? To determine what is staying on do this:
Night 1: take out half your fuses in your box. See if it does the same thing in the morning. If it does, you know that your problem lies in the items that utilize the other fuses.
Night 2: take out 3/4 of your fuses. If the problem recurs, take out more fuses that night. Keep going till you find the culprit. That's how I'd do it, but I'm lazy. If you wanna fix it right away, take 91serturbo's advice
