Battery issue? (B13)
My battery in my B13 has seemingly been ready to go the way of the dinosaur for the last few months. Before if I left the car on w/ just accessories on for more than say 15 minutes, it needed a jump. Then one day I had it towed home about 30 minutes because I broke my clutch cable and the tow truck driver left the four-way flashers on the entire time. Ever since then it's done this:

Driving at night, the low beams just shut off randomly, it seems like it does this when I'm stepping on it, but not always. I just switch to the brights and they work fine. But, kinda sucks to be driving with the low beams on and then after 5-10 minutes they randomly shut off outta now where. Kinda scary. When the car is idling in my driveway the low beams work fine. Just when I go out and go past VVL territory they seem to turn off. The weird thing is, the motor stays running, everything else remains on, the parking lights, stereo, brake lights, interior gauge/dome lights etc.

And again, when the low beams do shut off, I can switch to the bright's and they work fine. The high beams have never even flickered. Alternator was replaced about 1 year ago.

This first occurred after the car sat in my garage untouched for about 4 weeks when I was working on other stuff and I didn't drive it. Then it went away for awhile until that tow home. New battery? I guess I can test it but it's relocated to the fenderwheel so it's kind of hard to access, although just have to move a few things.

Check the connections on the battery before anything but if this thing is dying that fast i'm pretty sure you just need to replace that battery.

check the charging system could be the alternator or the battery both easy to get tested

Re: Battery issue? (B13)
Pop down to the local advanced auto parts and have them test both for free. Make sure battery is charged though or it won't work.

Strap a multimeter on the battery while running and see what kinda numbers you're getting

Everything else is working and just the low beams are giving you trouble...and your diagnosis is the battery?...huh?

Try looking at the low beam harness and the bulbs themselves. Sounds like something is loose.

This would indicate a battery issue.

This would seem to be a low beam harness/bulb issue, as Hank stated. While it's idling in the driveway with low beams on, wiggle the headlight harnesses around, starting at the bulb socket at the back of the headlight(s) and see what happens.
