That is a "I am Mike K. - I am the SR20 king" price...

Kojima can go fly a kite for that price.

The KW V3 setup is $7500 alone. It's pretty obvious 95% of the people here have no idea on what it costs to build a proper road race car. The engine work? Probably another $5000 easily with all the machine work

This is not a simply turbo setup steer pounder vehicle

I am not a MK dick swinger by any means and have had a few discussion with him about how to properly set up a B14, but road race cars is a whole ball game and 20 times removed that setting up a point and squirt vehicle

I am not arguing the car doesn't have the parts that adds up to a minimum of $15k.... But if he wants to get anywhere near what he's asking, part the damn car. I've been in this community way too long to know I will not get the $15K-$20K for my non-collectible car. It is not a Chevelle, Mustang, 510, etc...

When I bought my Sentra, I bought it with the understanding that I will not get back what I put into it...that I will not have a big community following... I waived my right to cry like a little bitch about the cheapness of the small community.

I am tired of Mike K. talking down to the community I so love. Too many damn Mike K. nut swingers. (not directed at you Boostlee).

I did the math the other week for my P11, and am not far from Mike K's price on a far worse overall setup. I knew I wouldn't get my money back when modifying these cars, I did it because it was fun and a learning experience. Now that the P11 is no longer fun, the costs hits the head pretty hard.

rofl

I will say that Kojima sold that white b13 SR project turbo car for a lot less than he probably could get. I think he sold it for $5k.

@SE-Rawkus in all honesty, I will have to agree with you on several points you made

@gomba - not the "same" setup as the OTS V3. The gentleman that does all the KW north American setup is actually the suspension engineer (Chris Marion if my memory serves me correctly) Kojima uses for the Dai drift car and he has had a complete custom developed through him. You won't find his setup in a catalog

Again, a Road Race car is far far removed from what typical folks can look up in a catalog. Just about every damn thing on the car is some sort of custom and has some proper engineering behind it

Not ding swinging, but these are simple facts. Been around too many road racers and understand the expense it takes (campaign a SCCA ITR and ITB vehicle)

@SE-Rawkus however, I will point this out

If you read your post, you are admitting to exactly what MK is saying. Yes, he DOES talk down to the community, however, in the same breathe (and again, you admitted in several posts up), he is also correct.

What makes this community strong, small, cheap, is also a BIG weakness I believe and why this community will not become as big as say a Honda or have even 1/1000th of the support. People buy these cars because they are cheap fun (I am guilty of this as well), but with this cheap fun, there comes issues as well

Simple fact of life
