Recommendations where to purchase SR20DET
Looking to purchase a fwd sr20det. I've checked all the engine importers online for prices and it looks like jdmtigerjapanese might be the best bet.

Can anyone share their experiences or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Should have specified that I am looking at the Bluebird engine.

Hit or miss really. Ask them for a compression read out. The BB are older motors. Why not go for an Avenir?

Alright thanks. I could go that route. I just haven't priced them.

I purchased my BB from them a few years ago, Easy transaction, compression was great when it showed up at my house. The only bad thing about them is they pressure wash the shit out of the whole motor before shipping, I had a friend of a friend build a car for a fella and he had bought a b18 from them and the entire intake manifold was full of water so on and so forth. (It literally looked like the motor was pulled from a car after the tsunami). I watched him pull the IM off, LOL!! But that is the only bad thing I've heard, They rectified the issue. Dave

Over the years I have gotten my motors only from Venus-Auto.com, and have never been let down. I've picked up the majority in person (Sacramento, Ca), but have shipped one before. Their prices are reasonable and their product is solid. The avenir motor we got from their was perfect. Just picked up a VE, and so far so good. He compression tests them in front of you if you pick them up. Their website sucks, so I suggest giving them a call.

Be caution of jdm engine currently. Ive had a few buddies of mine receive flood engines after the tsunami. One had to do a full blown rebuild because his intake was packed with sand.
