I just relocated my battery to the back... well because I had to. I used the flexible 4 gauge even though the consensus says to do otherwise. I ran two 100 amp breakers on in front and one in the rear right by the battery. I am waiting on 2 parts to put my motor back in, and after I do I will log what my voltage readings are.

Keep in mind, I run no extra audio equipment, and I somehow got away with under 13' of wire for my main power. I will take pictures today after I get back from work.

Flame if you wish, but if it holds up it will stay like this... If I run into any problems then I will upgrade the size.

I also am gathering the parts. But i see it this way... if your going to do it.. do it right the 1st time. Go with 0 gauge just for piece of mind.

4 gauge audio wire is just fine for relocation. 0 gauge audio wire is too much a pain in the butt to run and is not needed by a long shot. Your system will just never draw that much current. I would upgrade your ground and positive from the alternator to 4 gauge as well and make sure everything is fused properly.

Get some thing like this to distribute the wires.

Here is how I ran mine a couple days ago... I am going to get rid of my summit box and go for something cleaner next week though... I don't like it anymore. I am using 4 gauge flexible audio wire. It needs a little cleaned up but this is what the first stages of it looked like.

tokes, do you self a favor and throw some rust inhibiator paint on the drilled holes, let it dry, then hit it off with some silicon on the washer below and above.

ive seen many holes rust out bad on battery relocations. i have to do it to my turbo cars one one of these days and on my daily.

stratton.

Good lookin homie... I will have time to do so since i'm still waiting a bit. I've decided to chalk up my summit box and old rods... I sold some things this week so I decided to treat the car for once. I've been rocking the optima battery for a while, so I figured why not buy something for it. Some of yall may not like it but I think its pretty nice. Something about only having two mounting points holding my battery in a hatch bothered me quite a bit. It was alright when I had the sentra because it wasn't right behind my head. lol...

Already ordered and it should be coming this week... I'll take some pics after I install it. But here is what their site shows... It's a pretty trick ass piece, I just wish it came in black.

Thats really nice... Well I feel better about running 4 Gauge wire then. I have been looking around and 0 is really damn expensive. But what I am personally worried about is that I am running an amp and wondering if that will matter as much with 4 gauge.

Run a separate 4 gauge fused from the battery for the amp as well. You should be fine unless you have something huge. You can also get a cap to help even out the spikes.
