stuck in a lot with dead NX
I need some help. My car is stuck here in the parking at school and it won't stay running. I drove here to school with no problem what so ever but got into my car to leave for work and my car wont stay in idle. If I give the car gas to try and keep it alive(by playing with the throttle) it sounds like a subaru and get a nasty sounding popping within what sounds like the intake manifold. Would a MAF just die at random?

This is a VE with a N60 MAF.

please help me out!

check to see if your plugs are all the way on.. Also if you have the tool check the plugs for anything... What school are you at?

Make sure you have fuel in the tank, check the fuses, check for spark. Unplug the MAF and see if it gets better or worse. You should be able to limp it home with no MAF if the MAF is the issue.

Ok so I unplugged the MAF and my car idled like normal and as soon as I plug it back in while its running it just dies.

I cant drive my car 16 miles home in limp mode. I live in the next town over. So I am guessing that this maf took a massive shit?

Sure you can. Keep the MAF unplugged and head home. Keep the throttle inputs slow and to a minimum.

So far it certainly seems like the MAF died or there is a serious vacuum leak.

Also check the intake boot by the throttle body and check to make sure there isnt any holes or its torn or anything like that.

As soon as I hit 2.5k rpm she starts bucking. My tow is free so ill just stay safe and have her towed home and put my DE maf back in.
