Thread: Gear ratio's & speeds

So I was hoping someone with a stock b13 sr20 tranny could tell me what speed they are going at 3k rpm in 5th gear? I thought I had a stock b13 tranny but after doing some research people were saying they do 68-69mph at 3k, while I do 60-61 at 3k in my car. Obviously wheel and tire size has an effect on speed vs rpm but I'm running 16s with 225/45 so if anything I should be going faster, not slower than a car with stock wheels.

weird, iv seen people say the same as you and some say the same as me.

Check your speed via GPS... My b13's speed was off even with the stock tires lol

thats a possibility, but my speedo is the same as the "your speed" signs around town. and i would think 8-9 mph off would be somewhat noticeable on the road.

with your tire size and speed that sounds around what a b13 trans with a 4.7 final drive would do. or your tach is off approx 300 rpms with a stock b13 gear box

i didn't even know there was a 4.7 final drive for these trannys, iv only heard of the 4.44 option tach could be off, i have the greddy mss to activate vvl solenoids and there is a small difference between the rpms on the tach and the rpms on the mss. i forget how much, havent driven my car in over a month thanks to spec
