Seems to be a logical "chain" of events Once the roll pin is compromised with a bend,it can only get weaker.I've heard of other people with this issue of no adjustment left,but never heard a good solution,or explanation until now.I'll check the roll pin,and see if it actually is bent.Might be a solution for a lot of cars.Cheap,too.

Update on the distributor issue.Distributors just wear out;that's pretty much it.The roll pin holding the key to the shaft has a tiny bit of play,the shaft itself a tiny bit of play,the plate inside the dist. has shifted position a tiny bit all ending up with a bunch of tolerance build up.Swapping to a less used distributor may buy a little time,but they all end up the same way I'll bet.If we weren't all cheap bastards,just go to Nissan and buy a new one.Much simpler
