Spec clutch issue
so i just received my spec sprung 6 puck clutch i ordered through greg at gspec, i installed it on my flywheel and the fingers/diaphragm spring is very close to the center hub of the disc. so close i can push a spring finger with my thumb and make the tip touch the hub. on my other clutch the hub was small enough that the fingers wouldnt hit the hub when pressed in to disengage. it looks like its supposed to clear but the hub is just barely to big. has anyone else encountered this? or is this normal? doesnt seem like it should be normal to me, but anyway thanks for any help!

sorry it was dark when i took this but as you can see the fingers will hit the disc hub, and do if i press them hard with my thumb.

well i talked to greg at gspec and sent him the picture and he agrees this is not right. unfortunately spec inc. isn't open on the weekend so i have to wait till monday to talk to them. what sucks is i waited 3 weeks for this clutch just to get here, now im dealing with this. hopefully everything gets resolved by the 24th when i start college again since this is my only car at the moment :/

I had the same spec clutch as you for about 1 year maybe 1 1/2 years. The cluctch chattered alot but other then that it was great untill one day i was rolling back and forth on a hill and the spring blew out of it. The cluctch still had about 70% life on it when this happened.

well thats comforting news lol. i knew the past reputation when i bought it, just thought id trust greg v. saying he's sold a lot of them with no complaints and certainly never had this happen before. finally spec is having the clutch picked up tomorrow and another is already being overnighted, should be here tomorrow or tuesday. we"ll see if the same thing happens. if it does, im asking for a refund and probably go with clutch masters fx400

also Greg assured me that the Spec clutch was top notch....now after all the horror stories im hearing, i wonder if that is true
