EGR= exhaust gas recirculater basically it dumps exhaust back into the combustion chamber. I know the older systems hurt cars power. I don't think the modern systems hurt much.

My BB det NX hasn't seen lower than 28mpg. Turbo might be worth it in the long run

I'm considering a P10 transmission too. But the problem right now is, my engine is pretty much on it's last leg...

Newer EGR systems don't seem to do any harm. Plus it seems like having an EGR might actually improve the gas mileage...

I think the B13 EGR system while flawed won't really hurt power if properly maintained. The intake manifold will get sooty no matter what imo.

An sr16ve with a p11 non-lsd tranny in an nx2000 is probably your best bet for great mileage. That would not be the funnest car though.

I would think an SR16VE in a P11 would be as fast or little slower then a 200sx SE-R. Doubt any closer to the B13 though...

Our cars get good milage.

maybe yours, but not mine. the auto b15 sr20 if i drive it like a grandma, i will get maybe 21-23 all city, but if i drive it 'spiritualy' but not like i stole it, i get 25 city. same goes for the highway as well. i went to a meet, and filled up. that whole day of driving there and around like a mad man i got 300+miles out of my tank. me driivng like a grandma gave me 230 before the light pops on. gonna try the let it get half way, and fill er up at night. see what i get then .

or maybe its because i havent changed the cap, rotor and wires yet. will that make a diff?

I'm averaging about 24.5-26.6MPG in my VE. There is not a time that I drive the car that it does NOT see 8,000RPM at least once.

Which one would you guys suggest?

JDM Lowport or JDM Roller Rocker?

This would be for DD, don't believe it will be seeing forced induction.

Both are the same price...

Advantages of the Low Port:

  • More CAM options
  • Pulleys
  • Better internals for Turbo application

Advantages of the RR:
  • Roller Rockers - In theory easier to spin the lobes on, thus less friction
  • Lighter Crank

Disadvantages of the RR:
  • Low Cam Selection
  • Crank Pulley Upgrade is not advised. - This could be useless though, since crank is already lighter.

Any ideas guys?

If is not going to see many mods (particularly cams/turbo), RR engines will pull away some on the low port that would make up my mind

I'm thinking the same, the other thing about RR's is the fact that they have a weird oil filter location haha.

Do they use the same oil filters as DE's?
