JDM Engine Folks
People with JDM swapped engines, High ports and low port RR's.

How's the gas mileage on them? Did you guys get an MPG increase or decrease?

JDM's shouldn't have the EGR system and no other emissions, so that could either make the gas mileage much better, or much worse... hehe.

gas milage?? whats that???

you can transfer all the emission stuff over to the JDM except for the VVL people.

gas milage is the same.

I just took a drive down from north jersey to south jersey and did 32-33 highway which is to me awsome for the power of the car..its a basicly stock u13 motor..i believe turbo motors get better gas mileage due to the fact its a lower comp. motor

I've been thinking about swapping over the Intake Mani. I'm wondering if the engine runs better since it is designed to be without an EGR.

Thats not too bad, thats what I'm getting with my sludge monster though. Turbos will usually get you better MPG's.

When will you ever stop for your quest for the highest mpg sr20? Gas is expensive, we just deal with it.

Never!

I've heard of people hitting 37 MPG, on SR's so it's possible.

Plus I would hate to shell out $800 some bucks on an engine to find out that it will suck more gas

JDM engines are built to tighter specs as well.

But seriously Vadim, it's really not worth the energy and time chasing down that extra 1 mpg.

Oh yes sir I agree.

I'm asking so that I have an idea if I want to get a JDM engine, or a USDM one.

If I got with an RR, then it's JDM only, don't like how USDM's are redlined way too low...

Stay away from that redline and you will see better MPG's.

Haha actually redlining is as bad as idling .

When your car gets 19MPG city, with no redlining, then thats not good... esp if your friends V6 Camaro gets 20ish
