What causes this? Clutch/Idle related
Trying to diagnose an odd issue that I am having with my B14. Car idles great and sits around 1000rpm normally after warming up (higher when cold obviously). Issue I have is when I press in the clutch and put the shifter in gear. When I do this, the rpm's immediately shoot up to a little under 2K. This happens immediately after moving the shifter, with the clutch still pressed to the floor, and without releasing it to move the car in gear. My questions is:
What is causing this?? Is it related to the clutch? Tps? Is this normal because I don't feel like it is...
I have checked both connectors for the clutch switches and both are plugged in. It is not bypassed under the dash from what I can see. I can, however, start the car without pressing in the clutch pedal. Maybe this was bypassed somewhere else on the harness that I haven't seen yet? I tried disconnecting/swapping the connectors on the pedal and had no change in behavior. This is a new issue for me. Seems like something simple that maybe I am overlooking? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
