Yes,
@TheSam it happens a lot on FIA style curbs. (Have you been on a track with FIA curbs before, sir?)
And when the end that disengaged the LSD hits the tarmac again, it must re-spin and re-torque up the diff, engage, and then "be gripping again", sir.
For the 2% of the time where 100% importance of the car utilizing any and all grip available; there is a difference. (Albeit the difference does not suit 98% of the people registered on this forum)
I am more interested in more info such as price, availability, group buy maybe, Etc.... I looked on Quaife USA web site and they do not have the new unit listed on there so I sent them an e-mail to ask for more information. Maybe this can spawn a group buy. But if I start it, I cannot help it by fronting money. That would be up to the rest of the forum.
I am interested in getting one, the catalog for 2013 listed the MSRP at 660 British Pounds Sterling which which equal about $1000 USD.
EDIT: "The QUAIFE patented Automatic Torque Biasing (ATB) differential is designed to prevent the complete loss of drive that occurs with a conventional differential when one wheel slips. Whilst requiring some torque in the slipping wheel, the QUAIFE unit is progressive in action but never locks - controlled power is transmitted to all the driving wheels. Ideally suited to high powered front wheel drive systems, QUAIFE ATB differentials are also used in rear and four wheel drive vehicles where optimum traction is required. Installation is identical to the normal differential with bearing pre-loads and pinion mesh being restored to the original manufacturers' settings. Servicing of the unit is simple as all gear pinions are free fitting and normal final drive lubrication oils are retained."
