a/c compressor
good day to all.
have a problem.
just installed an a/c compressor and charged it to the correct freon psi. i have noticed when i turn off my a/c switch or fan switch my compressor clutch is still engaged. does anyone know why? ive checked all my wiring which is ok. i even swapped out relays and still the same problem. would appreciate all the help i can get

When you pulled the relay, did the clutch disengage? Also, you need to pull a vacuum on the system before putting in freon.

when i recharged the system we properly vacuumed. it holds vacuum very well. added freon and oil

and yes i pulled the relay and it disegaged

What type of climate control panel do you have? Automatic or manual? If it is manual, pull the panel and check continuity across the a/c button. You will have to measure it twice across the switch, once with the button pressed, then again with it depressed. The micro switch also ties into the fan switch as it is where it gets its power.
