I think I broke it, now it won't start
Yesterday while troubleshooting a rough idle condition, I was checking voltages on the TPS and MAF. Unfortunately I think I forgot to change the range on the multimeter before checking the signal voltage on the MAF and think I may have messed something up. It was running before, now it cranks but won't start. I checked fuses and fusible links and didn't see any that were blown. ECCS relay is good, all lights come on the dash as they normally would, and I can hear the fuel pump prime. I haven't checked for spark yet, I have the next couple days off so I'll check that then. Just wondering if there is anything simple/obvious that I am overlooking.

Specs on the car: 96' B14, GTIR, Z32 MAF, JWT ecu tuned for this setup

What happens if you unhook the sensors you think you knackered? Did you short the MAF circuit? Did you blow any fuses? Do you still have voltage at the MAF?

The error is probably where you tinkered Good luck finding it

Open the JWT ECU up and see if you blew-out the MAF driver on the board.

My brother came over to help me today. When I turned it over to check for spark it started ,so I'm not sure what was going on the past 2 days, I'm thinking possibly a loose connection somewhere.

That's one of the crazy things about cars. Sometimes, it seems things fix themselves. I've had that happen to me a few times w/ various vehicles. Like a crazy thumping sound that lasts for 2 days, when you KNOW somethings wrong, then you let it sit for a wk b/c your afraid to drive it, you drive it again and it's gone for like 4 years.... never figured that one out and there's been more

I had a crazy misfire, a spark plug that got demolished then the engine running on 3 cylinders with a huge knock end up going away after sitting for a few weeks LOL I agree, it sometimes fixes itself
