The problem is he cant find OEM nissan cores anymore, but if you have OEM cores, he can still rebuild them.

This is a very good question. How do you know if they are OEM? I have a set in the garage, 1 is green and an obvious rebuild, but the other one is black. Is there an easy way to tell for sure?

This is a major part of the problem, he said people would swear their axles were OEM, so he would send them OEM Raxles rebuilt, then when they sent back the cores, they would be some cheap aftermarket ones so he would be out the OEM cores. This happened until he had no OEM cores left.

IIRC, green is an indication of OEM. The OEM axles also have fine surface ridges, around the shaft. Aftermarket are smooth (usually), IIRC. OEM B13 axles are beefier than b14. I'll have to take some measurements with calipers and post them up. When he saw my b13 axles he was like "ohhh, you even have the earlier ones, these are the best ones!". We should start a thread on identifying OEMs, with pics and measurements. He told me he would pay lots for OEM cores.

EDIT: I found a thread with great pics of OEM axles. It is a comparison between LSD and non-LSD axles, but the photos are a great reference: http://www.sr20-forum.com/howto-s/725-lsd-vs-non-lsd-transmission-axle-comparison-pics.html

Are these really that rare? I have them on all my cars, even the Corolla. Marty is local to me, I've talked to him quite a bit. He know's our cars well. The problem is he cant find OEM nissan cores anymore, but if you have OEM cores, he can still rebuild them.

Last time i talked to him, he cant rebuild them at all.

He did some for me this past fall. Took him a while, but he found a new source for quality joint components.
