Rarest to me is synonymous with OEM, nothing aftermarket. I grew up seeing the muscle cars of the late 60's/early 70's sit on dealer lots for next to nothing in the mid to late 70's after the oil embargo of 1973 and following "gas crisis", emission regs, etc. Now those cars are going for upwards of six figures, the most valuable being the one's that remain stock and with low production options.

^ like my 510, its appraised at over 25k, selling it for that yah right in the markets nowadays, but its insured for that amount if anything ever happend to it. A datsun builder did a appraisel on my car saying to build one like it, and be restored, not preserved like mine, would cost over 25k, well into 30k. So stock is definatly nice. Love the looks i get in her and when people ask is it restored, and i go no, PRESERVED!

Any part that is coveted or desired by others really lets you know what you have. One man's trash is another man's treasure with these cars. Anything limited production or one-off/custom will always have the unique, rarity factor.

Anything Nismo/Autech for the B14 is what I desire most.

Yep, original parts or true factory accessories will continue to draw a lot of attention. They were just sold in such low numbers, even comparing to the actual production number of the vehicles. Maybe there are some barn finds just waiting to get discovered or closed dealers with hidden Jewells tucked away.

I was always a muscle car guy so I'm new to this seen, but For me the fun is not just driving my vehicles it's finding rare OEM parts. I spend upwards of 6 hours daily looking for them. Just wish you guys would post pics of rare parts or start a thread on them.
