Thread: DEFINE: Rare Part

Something that I have noticed more and more over last few years is that most people consider the majority of the parts on their car rare. At what point does a part become rare? I think that there are allot more "Hard to Find" parts out there than anything. What would you consider to be a "RARE" part?

Dealer installed B13 center armrest. And OEM fog light covers.

I have one of those in my car. Also, I found one in a junkyard a year ago, I put it here for sale and nobody wanted it. :-(

I'm thinking more like the R180 Nismo lip that @danfiveten has or the F-Max manifold that @Barney'sB14 has on Lucy. Or finding a NIB (New in Box) discontinued 10+ years ago part.

I guess I'm just a stickler for details, but I really enjoy this line of thinking. I believe our cars will be historically significant in the not so near future. Once original owners like myself(read:OLD)have moved on in one way or another , some info may be lost forever. For some reason I care if foglights were on every SE-R, or installed at the port, or if leather was offered by Nissan at the dealer, or simply offered by the dealer. Just like classic Camaros and Mustangs, I think our cars will be relevant for future generations, and I'd like to think we got it right. 93SE-R soapbox rant for the day.

i have a set of b14 se-r wheels nib and also a set of sentra/pulsar wheels nib.

my thought of rare items are: b14 corner light with induction vent, or i really want to the sky carbon fiber lip.

Well, I think back on the stuff that was available when I was modding my first '91 B13 SE-R...like a Stillen Valve Cover or those billet crank/power windows.

Brand new in original box....Zero miles....
