Ok what exactly is a can of air.. I'm not really sure, lol. I will def try this though once I figure out what to actually get and where.

A can of compressed air, to cool it quickly.

Like this, found in most office supply stores, etc.

When sprayed upside-down it releases the propellant in liquid form which turns to a gas quickly and freezes the shit out of things.

The wires will pull right out once you remove the locks. You need to disassemble it and remove the blue locks.

Oooh that might be my problem, I am actually colorblind and never saw any blue. Are they on the bottom side?

Freezing didn't work, little pieces came out but not all of it

MAJOR amperage did that. The alt and/or it's connections should be your #1 suspects.

Positive lead to the alt? Check this... 75 amp alt fuse keeps blowing : 240sx General Discussion

Sounds likely. Ugh I really really dislike electronic stuff in cars. It's the one thing that always confuses me, except for maybe wiring speakers. Wiring always messes with my head, I just don't understand it, or something.

First check the positive cable on the alt. On the alt there's a little plastic insulator on the positive stud, the ring connector on the end of the positive cable sits on this. The insulator can break causing the positive cable to ground out on the alt body, if that happens POP!

As far as that melted fuse, it may have welded itself to the terminals. The terminals should come out somehow, if so I don't think you'd have to go through the trouble of swapping in an entire new box.

Let me know how you make out. I may have some time this weekend to lend a hand.
