Battery Relocation and Fusible link?? Any ideas??
Hello all

I originally did a battery relocation, but this past weekend vibrations have brought it to an early demise and now I am looking into a more permanent solution to get it sorted. The issue is however, the fusible link and getting it hooked up to any sort of distribution block, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on components used for your batter relocation setup end to end, including how you did your fusible link setup??

Thanks much!

I have a 00 ((I think) welding wire ran under the car along the frame rail & fastened every 12"

I have a red top optima in the trunk in a battery box. I run the ground to the cassis in the trunk, with another ground up in the engine bay grounding all that stuff.

the + cable going from the batt to the engine bay runs into a dist box mount to the driver side rail above the trans which then goes to the starter, I then have the smaller white wire for the other elcs going into the dist box.

now when your talking about a fusible link what are you referring to? something in line from the bat to the starter?

Batt - fuse - starter (like this? )

or do you mean like a switch to be used at the track to turn off the battery from outside?

Cut it off! Hook both wires directly to a block and your good to go. I did this a few weeks ago and have zero issues with the car running in 104+ degree weather. Im trying to upload a picture but the cell signal is weak at work.

I ditched mine when I moved my battery to the trunk 8+ years ago and have had no issues. Fuck that thing.

Either way, I think the above picture explained what I needed to know and echoes what you folks above told me!

@circa.13 : Post pics (and information) when you get a chance. I wanna see!!

@mirrortints : Is your relocation (pics) in your build thread?? Info on parts/setup??
@BenFenner : Pics, info and such?? Is it in your build thread (link possibly)?? Thanks for the input!

Its kinda hard to see but I have the power wire running into the block and then the 0 gauge wire to the hatch with the battery. The block has 4 10 gauge slots where the 2 fusible link wires go and the the other wires are for the VVL solenoids and priojectors.

Look through my posts in this thread for the most comprehensive description and pictures of my setup. I never really did do a good chronicle of it.
