some of the bigger holes (water pipes to matrix, holes for abs etc.etc) i welded in a plate

How did you prep the surface to conver up the weld?

clean up all the original paint and what-not, get busy with the welder, grind off the high spots thenuse a flap wheel to smooth out, bit of body filler to finish.

SE-Rican it would also help if you are using a mig to get a brass or copper plate to go behind the spot you are welding, this way you can just fill the hole in, and after you're done, just knock the brass/copper plate off and sand it down and you're good to go.

Just get a reverse drill bit.



Anyhow, I second (or 3rd or 4th) the welding option.
