Seating 22X8X15 slicks on b14 wheels
For some reason my M/T slicks in the size listed will not fully seat on the front bead of the wheel. It will not go over the lip on about 1/8th of the section of the tire. The rest of the tire is seated but that one spot is dipped in because of this. its not leaking air and ive had them down to 10psi and they dont leak but they are not looking right.
I tried airing them up to 65psi to try and get them to pop on the bead but they wont. Do i need to go higher than that. No shops want to do it because they dont want to be liable for the tire if it blows. So they wont air them up above 45psi. Now Discount tire tried to pry the one side up with a bar but that would just cause the other side to slide down into the dip before the lip of the rim. Ive got a different set of wheels that if noone responds i will use those because they dont have a steep lip inside just a nice gradual up to the bead.
Anyone have a clue how to make these work, i told everyone that most people use this exact slick on this exact wheel with no problems. They all just tell me the rim is not wide enough and wont allow the bead to pop. Do i need to air them up higher. I saw someone said they aired them up to 100psi to get them to seat but if thats true i will try it but really afraid of the tire just blowing up. Dont want that to happen
