the 108 teeth flywheel is not made for the the vvl motor. It is made for the newer cars running the obd2 ecu that uses the crank angle sensor. using the 109 teeth flywheel will throw the code.

Unfortunately their average customer service employee seems to hardly be an expert on every application of flywheel they sell. As already stated in this thread among other threads I have read, some people were told by Fidanza that the extra weight is due to a heavier gear ring, which apparently is not necessarily true. They were also the ones who told me that all VVL motors use the 108-tooth flywheel, and now I am learning that it is supposedly rather an OBD2 thing. Thus Fidanza themselves contribute to the spreading of the misinformation. I am more willing to trust members on here who have first-hand experience with this specific application.
That being said, I will most likely just end up going with the 143201 after all.
