I think the future of this community is thread drift.

I will say, without a doubt, people replying to your threads and helping out has gone way down hill. I remember the days when you'd post a question and 4 people would respond within a couple hours. These days, it's almost impossible to find support for something that's never been asked. The forum(s) has been around for so long that most questions have gone answered, but for the new questions out there it's hard to find support. I think that's mainly due to the admitted draw down in visits and interest for the forums.

As much talk about tuning that has gone on in this thread, the tuning section on the forums is one of the most under-active places on the forums and community support in self-tuning is few and far between it seems. What's the use of a nicely featured ECU if you can't get the support and information to tune it yourself?

Maybe for the B13. The only worth buying rear sway bar on the market for the b14 is from Whiteline. Progress discontinued the b14 bar.

gomba, I think there comes a time where all the easy/medium/hard questions have been asked and answered, which only leaves hard-as-fuck questions being asked. I'm not surprised those questions get less replies or go unanswered. At some point a member has enough knowledge to pose a question that not many can answer. At some point people need to roll up their sleeves and get to work finding their own answer. The forum is great for most things, but some things are beyond the scope or at least outpace the scope of the forum. When that happens, one needs to realize they are beyond the knowledge bank of the forum and their role changes (on the forum) from information seeker to information giver.

My 2¢.

@gomba, as mentioned, everything happens behind the scenes so you have to know the right folks to talk to. I have posted several threads on here and got responses in a few hours.

But you also have to realize: I do not believe in spoon feeding people, so if you are NOT willing to do atleast a little legwork, I do not feel bad when people do not respond (not directed at you, but generally). I recently posted a thread about fitment of a protech mani and exhaust washers. Several people answered my questions, I went out and tried an idea in conjunction with the responses I garnered from our fellow forum members, and it was worked flawless since!

This is NOT a Honda site, and sometimes, there simply is NOT a simple solution. Sometimes you have to be your own personal engineer and just try things instead of being timid. And have some common sense

EDIT: @BenFenner, stop STALKING my responses before I can hit the reply button!!!

I partly agree, but I will say that that the forums have been around for close to 10 years and our cars 20 years. Almost everything HAS been done before, but not everything has been ASKED before. It's just finding people who can answer your question. With the draw down in interest and visits to the forums those people aren't around anymore so you're having to re-invent the wheel when you don't need to or end up using a square wheel. It can be very frustrating.

Why do I need a forum for this? In other words, if it comes to the point where people just stop replying to threads you HAVE to resort to your statement...and then what's the use of the forums? Just to post when the next convention is?

Forums are for newbs and wanna-be mentors. And Offtopic. Pick two.

Edit: And making bank. And cats.

The forums are a great place to talk about non-car things and connect with people you've become friends with over the years, but the main purpose is to help out w/car questions. That's why the mailing list was created before there even was a forum. Losing sight of that will surely dry out the community.

I'm all for spoon feeding people. I think we should babysit every build related to any car on this forum. Then mock them after we convinced them to remove their sr20 and install a ga16.
