How are the Direzzi's for 1st gear stop launches? In like a 200+hp NA VE?

The "Nankang" aka "Crapkangs" just spin. worthless.

Just have 70 percent left on the NanKangs. Maybe I can sell them cheap. Or trade for something

I highly recommend the Dunlop ZII's.I daily drove their predecessor, the Star Specs, and just drove the ZII's today at an autocross in a heavy downpour.Stuck like glue,no shit. They're dirt cheap from Tire Rack, like $138 per tire. Not exactly in your size, but close.Really a nice daily tire as well, great, comfy ride and you can autox them with no worries. You've spent decent money building a great car, don't skimp on the part that makes or breaks the amount of fun you can have Awful tires can ruin a fun car in a hurry.

A good auto-x or road course tire will have a sticky compound and a stiff sidewall. The sticky compound helps a bit with launching, but the stiff sidewall ruins any chance you'll get any real traction during a launch. When you go with these better racing tires you gain HUGE in lateral support and braking gains a good bit but traction under straight acceleration only increases in lesser amounts on FWD cars.

Don't expect miracles.

Miracles not expected, at least when it comes to tire brands

depends on what class you are gonna run in, doesn't it? if you're in a modified class go with dedicated race rubber

If you're doing more autocross than track for a decent price get the Direzza ZIIs. More directed toward that. I have tried the Kumho XS (great dry tire only, best price), Falken RT615K (decent in wet & dry), Hankook RS3s (currently in use, excellent in dry warm climate & adequate in rain. 140 rating on treadwear, highly recommended for track duty). All on 15" rims. I'm a believer of driving to and from the track and if your ride is more suited for daily use the Direzza ZII would be a great all around choice for the price with 200 tread wear. I'm looking to try the BFG Rivals, currently the extreme summer performance king in current testing against the Direzza ZII, Hankook RS3, Toyo Proxes R1R & Yokohama Neova AD08. Hard to find RS3s nowdays, lot of racers jumping on these for both autocross & track duty. Nationwide shortage of these....
