I would pull the pan and do an oil flush to get all of the metal out.

Yea, gonna pull pans and change oil. I need to pull them anyway to drill and tap block, so will do both then.

I may have gotten away with one though. I know I did not hear any hissing out thottle or exhaust for sure. Only out the crankcase.

Okay, my plans are to get another set of cams and getting gears from a member here. Now I have a question for you guys who know all about these motors. When I pulled damaged cams out, the crank was at TDC, but cams were not, the first lobes were facing each other, my guess 180 degrees around.

Now, if I keep Crank at TDC, and put new gears in with cams at the correct TDC markings, 10 and 12 with correct pins inbetween and dizzy pointing to #1, will that make it all right and get all my timing back on where it should be. It wont matter that the crank was actually on its 2nd revolution when cams pulled?

Will the injectors be firing at the correct times then? What actually tells the injectors when to fire? Dizzy? If it is the dizzy then it should all be fine then what I am gonna do right? Please anyone that thinks I am going about this either really right or really wrong let me know. Thanks guys.

On cylinder #1, the intake and exhaust cam lobes should be facing away from each other at 180*. Once you do that, the dizzy rotor will line up like the illustration JP314 posted.

Yea, so I can just physically rotate the gears to be at tdc and then the cams will face away from each other like they should. But that in return wont mess any of the ingnition up, and I mean by that is the injectors will still know when to fire as long as the dizzy is in the right place, right?

The injectors get the signal from ecu, ecu gets it signal from distributor, distributor from exhaust cam position. If the exhaust cam is in the correct postion at TDC for cylinder #1, you're good to go.

Just go with the pics and illustrations JP314 provided.

Andreas Miko once told me that mechanical TDC is when the dots on both cam gears lines up with the marks on the timing chain links some are yellow and some are light grey and some dark grey also if you need highport cams and gears check here >>> http://www.sr20-forum.com/oem-parts/67000-highport-cams-gears.html

The marks on the timing chain do not have to match the dots. Do yourself a favor and start over, with the camshafts uninstalled turn the crank until both #1 cylinder and the crankshaft pulley are @ TDC. Make sure a buddy pulls the chain (to hold tension) towards the headlights while you turn the crank. Then install the camshafts as jp314's post. Make sure there is NO slack between the exhaust cam sprocket and the crank shaft gear. The slack should be between the intake cam sprocket and the crank gear, and that should be taken care of by the tensioner. Count the links INSIDE the cam sprocket dots not the outside ones when making sure you have them in correct. and when installing the camshafts leave all the cam caps loose and the cam gear bolt loose until you are 10000 percent positive that the cams are installed correctly. Then you can tighten everything once you are certain it is correct. At that point your distributor should only go in one way and the distributor cap should be pointing to #1 cylinder. Do not worry about the injectors firing it does not have a direct link besides the exhaust cam position. If you do things right the car should fire right up.
