Pedal sticking to the floor is because the clutch lever return spring is not tight enough (clutch lever is not pulled enough) to pull the pedal back from the firewall. The clutch pedal, with nothing attached, will stay against the firewall because of how its spring works. It takes the spring inside the transmission on the clutch arm to pull it back up at least halfway until the clutch pedal spring can take over.
