just needsome quick advice
so today all be a crappy rainy day, i went ahead before the raib and attempted to tackle putting on a new front crankshaft oil seal. mine was leaking pretty bad and it was time. everything went really well, and nut came off fine, pulley came off fine. old seal was a pita but eventually came out. installed the new seal and then came the problem.
i installed the seal and was easy, installed the crankshaft pulley that was easy, then came the problemm i think there always has to be one or somethings not right. i was unable to torque down the pulley bolt. i dont have a impact but do have a torque wrench but shit that doesnt mean much when the fing pulley wont stop spinning. well after a little ghetto rigging the setup i was able to torque the bolt to 108lbs which is over minimum and under maximum so thats fine.
the real problem is i left my keys in the iginiton and every time i manuallly spin the crankshaft the injectors must have fired becuase i tried to start the car, no start, just backfire and sputter and wont idle, so i pull the spark plugs and they are covered in gas and obviously smell of gas.
am i gettting this right? when i spun the crankshaft with the acc on the injectors fired. i was spaced out and kept hearing the fuel pump prime but iwas so aggravated with the whole not being able to torque the bolt that i thought nothing of it.
to top it off i left and forgot to shut my hood so everything got wet. but it will dry. i am just concerned with the whole spark plugs being fouled.
do you guys think this was the case of the injectors fouling the spark plugs when the crankshaft rotated?
