1) Get the 5th gear repair kit from Courtesy Nissan, or from Greg @ G-Spec.com (round $340-$380) - either do the work yourself if you have a place to do it and know how or hire someone to do it. I can tell you now that even with supplying the new parts, an average shop will charge you like $1000 for labor.
2) Find a manual transmission from a wrecked SR20DE powered vehicle and swap it, and hope that it itself doesn't have the 5th gear problem, or that it doesn't develop it.
3) Sell the car for cheaper and tell the buyer about the problem.

Find a used tranny and swap it in unless you know how to dissamble gear stacks thats what Id recommend. Cheapest and easiest way to do things if you decide to keep it.

Problem with this is that most of the time the shifter fork needs to be replaced. Then u flip the gear and a few months down the line the problem is back. Get the kit from greg, if your s3t on a new car then do it
