Thread: Resealing a sr20 chain tensioner ??

Hi,whats the best way to reseal a tensioner using a old gasket,do i need a new gasket or can use some RTV ??

Any info is welcomed

New gasket is best.go oem Nissan. also if you are replacing the tensioner make sure you get the updated version

you automatically get the updated version when you order a new tensioner. also ive reused that seal like 4 times without putting anything on there and it has never leaked

Ok,little update,i have reused the old gasket,but cleaned it up and put RTV on it also,i let it cure,then see what happens.

Nissan doesn't sell the old tensioner anymore.
