You bet. The machine shop is going to drill out the bottom part of the bolt, check the alignment of the holes, then chase all the threads to make sure there are no other issues.

I blow my head gasket and made the mistake of not resurfacing the block(just head), and in a couple of months had pressure in my cooling system again. Hope your turns out okay.

I would have had the block surfaced as well. how did you check the deck to make sure it was straight?

It was resurfaced. It was off by 1/15 thousandths of an inch or something.

Thank you. I can't express the thankfulness and support I've gotten from so many of you these past trying weeks. This is the largest SR20 project I've ever taken on, and we were all good until that stinkin' bolt. Luckily I didn't go for those APR head studs like a few suggested, I just wanted the OEM (at $4.42 each)

Since much of the block will be at the machine shop Mon-Tues, I am going to take this opportunity to really really clean out the engine bay. Some of it its FILTHY, especially the tranny. Yikes! Simple green and paper towels. :P :P

Getting head back from the machine shop Thursday and new head stud came today. I hope to have it back on the road in 8-10 days depending on the weather
