Thread: A/C Line exploded, caught header on FIRE

What the fuck happened lol the low side hose blew a slit in it right by the header (the actual hose part) and I was driving past my brothers house to turn around and I hear people yelling that my cars on fire so i pull up and pop my hood and my exhaust manifold gasket was on fire..I had just recharged my system from empty and put about 16 oz in it... Needed more so went to get it and was on my way back when this happened.. It looks like a perfect vertical slice... What would cause this??? Old hose?

Old hose,add a little heat from the header.......poof!

Change the expansion valve and the High pressure switchg
